Yaacov Kaufman

Israeli designer whose practice moves between two poles: functional industrial design for mass production, and experimental explorations of material and form. His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Israel Museum, the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, and the Milan Triennale.The project presented at the fair features a series of leather masks based on a rectangular format. The duality of leather serves as a central element throughout the series, examining the material through a morphological process that transforms it from a two-dimensional surface into a three-dimensional form resembling a face.
