Yaacov Kaufman

Yaacov Kaufman is an Israeli designer whose practice moves between two poles: functional industrial design for mass production, and experimental explorations of material and form. His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Israel Museum, Tel-Aviv Museum, Haifa Museum, Holon Design Museum, the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, and the Milan Triennale.The project presented at the fair features a series of leather masks based on a rectangular format. The duality of leather serves as a central element throughout the series, examining the material through a morphological process that transforms it from a two-dimensional surface into a three-dimensional form resembling a face.
