Gil Shmerlin

Gil Shmerlin is a graduate of Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design and The Cooper Union. He creates lighting sculptures and small series of objects that investigate the relationships between light, color, and material. His works move between function and sculptural presence, shaped by movement, reflection, and shifting light.The project presents three aluminum works finished with hand layered automotive paint, creating changing compositions in space. The works generate states of quiet tension and shifting presence, existing between functional object and environmental sculpture.
