EREZ NEVI PANA

Erez Nevi Pana is an Israeli creator, designer, and researcher. He holds a bachelor's degree in design from HIT and a master's degree from the Design Academy Eindhoven. His design practice is rooted in a systemic and holistic approach that examines the relationships between humans, animals, and the environment. Through his studio, Nevi Pana develops innovative solutions for contemporary design by researching cruelty-free alternative materials while preserving and integrating traditional craft techniques. His work has received international recognition and included in the collections of the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) in Australia and the Denver Art Museum.Silk threads produced from cocoons after the moth has emerged are woven into a textile that embodies a holistic design philosophy. Today, designers are increasingly called upon to embrace an ethical framework that regards humans as part of a broader ecological and living system. The title Peace Silk extends beyond the material itself, engaging with principles of nonviolence and proposing an alternative approach: the use of ethical silk, as opposed to conventional industrial production in which silkworm pupae are killed before emergence. Created through a weaving technique that combines warp and weft with looped structures, the textile reveals the profound connections between nature and ethics.
